Karen Storer RN, MBA, is a clinical manager, and children’s author whose work is rooted in themes of resilience, healing, and the quiet strength found in nature. Raised in Chicago, she spent her summers in the North Woods of Wisconsin, where she later returned as a camp nurse—experiences that shaped her deep appreciation for animals, the outdoors, and the small moments that help children feel brave. Her volunteer work in equine therapy further strengthened her belief in the powerful bond between children and horses.

With more than sixteen years of experience in clinical leadership, Karen brings compassion, clarity, and heart to everything she creates. Her debut children’s book, A Horse Named Sunrise, reflects her lifelong commitment to helping others find hope and courage. She lives in the Chicago area with her family and continues to write stories that uplift and inspire young readers.
